Happy Halloween week my creepy, little second graders!
In Keyboard Climber 2 you will have to move the monkey up the trees by pressing on the right letters that are on the branches. Pay attention to whether they are capital or lowercase letters.
Remember… to make a capital letter you MUST press and hold SHIFT and then the letter you want to make capital. SHIFT + [letter]=Capital Letter But you have to type quickly or a coconut will fall on your monkey's head sending you to start from the beginning! |
Creepy Candy is a game where you have to search through the house to find candy. You'll have to use your arrow keys to move Ryan through the mouse and press on the Space Bar to investigate objects and collect keys. There are also locked doors you will have to open to get through. But you don't use just any keys to open them. You have to match the number on the keys to the numbers on the doors to get through.
Good luck and watch for menacing monsters! They will send you back to the front door. Boo!!! |

Add and subtract the numbers on the calculator in multiple ways to get all the numbers shown on the top left box. This game really gets you to think!

Trick or Treat - Route Planning Activity
Children utilize problem solving, planning, and thinking skills to find the shortest path to retrieve items. Collect treats from neighbors and then go back home. The goal is to plan the shortest path between points and to return home before the pumpkin.
Balloon Pop! Subtraction
This elementary activity is great fun for all kids learning subtraction! Kids are presented with subtraction problems and need to pop balloons to find the solution! There are 3 levels of difficulty, a bonus round and score reports.

This week for our Unit 1: Keyboarding we will practice typing keys on the HOME ROW. We're going to discuss what the home row keys are and correct finger placement on those keys. We will also practice finding those keys with our eyes closed!! Don't worry kiddos, it's not as hard as it sounds :)

All of the keyboarding games above are Home Row lessons. For the last game, Keyboard Revolution, be sure to select "#1 Homerow Only" as the lesson and the level of difficulty you want. I would suggest selecting beginner to start out. If you feel it is too easy, go ahead and try the harder levels.

DIRECTIONS: As a young ninja, you are about to take your final test to become a master keyboard ninja. Your master test will be to see how long you can survive an onslaught of flying fruit! Slice the fruit, but avoid the bombs!
